Hi I'm David

I was born into the church. I received a witness of the Book of Mormon from the Holy Ghost that I cannot deny. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy airsoft and D&D on the weekends, and playing Pokemon Go with my sister (for the exercise) when I've got a chunk of free time, though recently most of my time has been put into preparing for a mission. I like to play video games and watch old movies. I play the piano and have written some songs, but nothing good enough to brag about (though that hasn't stopped me). I like to travel. I've been all up and down the east coast, to Arches National Park, to Lake Tahoe, to Oregon, to Hawaii. Though I've never been out of the U.S., I'd like to.

Why I am a Mormon

You could say part of the reason I'm a Mormon is because my parents are, but that's not entirely true. Sure, when I was young I went to church because my mom said so and there was no arguing, but now, as an adult, I'm a Mormon not because my mom said to be, but because Christ said "come, follow me." Because I've received a witness from the Holy Ghost that this is Christ's church. Because He loves me, and I love Him.

How I live my faith

I have a few assignments and callings around my ward. I'm an instructor for the men my age and I prepare lessons. I play hymns on the piano every Sunday for people to sing. I'm also an Assistant 11 Year Old Scout Leader, so I help 11 year olds get their Tenderfoot, First, and Second Class scout ranks so they're ready to work on Star, Life, and Eagle when they join the older boys. Just recently as a service project we helped make quilts to send to 3rd world countries.

Who are the Mormons?

David
The dictionary definition of a Mormon might be "a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints", but there's more to it than that. A Mormon is someone who has entered into a Covenant (a kind of promise) at baptism that they will keep God's commandments and follow him. We take Christ's name upon us, and as such are representatives of Him. You can refer to Moroni chapters 4 and 5 in the Book of Mormon for more information on that. It's the Sacrament Prayer and it outlines the promises we make. Show more Show less
