Hi I'm Katrina

I grew up in a small town in Texas. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small community so I loved to try every activity offered to me! I was in my school's band for seven years, which was the start to my love for anything musical. I'm currently serving an 18 month mission at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah! I love being able to serve others all the time and enjoy getting to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with people from all around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the peace and happiness it brings to me. I know that this is God's true church on the earth today, and I want to share that knowledge. I was born and raised in this church so I have been taught the doctrines and principles I believe all my life. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love each and every one of us here and want us to be happy. By doing all I can to be a genuinely good person and serve those around me, I know that I'm living my life the way I should. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins and I'm determined not to throw His sacrifice away.

How I live my faith

I was very active in my youth program while I was in Junior High and High School. I went to as many summer activities and camps through my church as possible during that time as well. About a year ago, I was able to participate in the Nauvoo and British Pageants held in Nauvoo, Illinois, which served as a great way for me to share my testimony in a very unique setting! I love being an example of my religion and serving others. I am now serving an 18 month volunteer mission in Salt Lake City, Utah at Temple Square, and get to help people from all around the world!

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Katrina
I know a lot of people think that giving away 10% of your income is hard, but it's for a great cause! We use the income to help build and further the work done in our church. We can donate it to help build church missions, buy supplies for those in need, and even fund the missionaries in our church. We use tithing as a way to give back to God and His purposes to acknowledge all that He does in our lives. If you really think about it, we owe God everything, so in that respect, 10% isn't much at all! And when we do pay our tithing, we are definitely blessed for it. I see it as a win-win situation!
