Hi I'm Joel Christopherson

I grew up in Western New York. I love to ski and play tennis. I am a missionary in the Arizona Phoenix Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a quiet person who has lived most of their life in regions where the LDS church presence has always been small and limited. I absolutely love the parents I have, and the one older sister that I have. My family has been a major blessing in my life. I have lived in Kentucky, Rhode Island, and New York. Where I lived in New York, I worked hard to be able to serve a 2 year mission for my church and to be able to attend BYU in Provo, Utah to study business or biology. I am an Eagle Scout, and I am grateful for that scouting opportunity. Growing up, I loved to play football, tennis, volleyball, and I loved to ski. Of these, skiing and tennis are my favorite. I love to play old video games, and I love to read fiction books that have fantasy involved. J.R.R Tolkein is one of my favorite authors to read. I have a great sense of humor, and one thing I love to do is share corny jokes with my friends. One strange talent I have is the ability to juggle on a pogo stick. I am exactly six feet tall. I love the Western New York area I grew up in, and I will miss the beautiful fall seasons that occur there, and the piles of snow that come in the endless winters. I will also miss the Palmyra Temple where I worked and had so many wonderful experiences. I am currently serving as a missionary for the LDS church in the Phoenix Arizona Mission, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Savior Jesus Christ. Being a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, has allowed me to become closer to my savior, and has allowed me to know and understand his teachings better. I was born and I grew up in the church, but like many others, I had my faith tested. I had to find out and decide myself if the things I was learning was true. I studied, prayed, and fasted, and I received a personal witness from the Holy Ghost that what I was learning was true. It gave me so much joy that I wanted to serve a mission and share some of the joy that I had experienced.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith with exactness. The lord has given his children so many tools and opportunities to help them grow and come unto Jesus Christ, and it is important that all of us use these things to our advantage. I also try to live my faith with optimism. Our Heavenly Father has placed us on this Earth to find joy and happiness. So as I have served in various ways in the church, and more importantly as a son of God, I try to do these things to the best of my ability with a smile on my face knowing that what I am doing is good, and true. I know showing love to others and doing what Christ would do is a way to bless others and I know the lord will bless me.
