Hi I'm Nancy

I have been a Mormon all of my life. My gggrandfather came from England after hearing the gospel. I love the gospel.

About Me

I have been a member all of my life.......raised in Montana where members of the church were few in number. I married a non member and have been married 50 years. While my husband has never joined the church, our children are all married in the temple and our son served a mission in France. My husband is my support, my children my strength, and my grandchildren my joy!

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always active in the church, but after being married and becoming a mom I decided to put the Book of Mormon to the test and read it with real intent. I didn't stop there as my thirst for knowledge was non stop. I gained a strong testimony of the church, it's leaders, and the principles it espoused.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings over the years teaching adults, teenagers, and little children. Because of health issues, I had to be released last year from my last calling. I hope to get another calling soon as I am getting back to feeling better everyday. I am active in the community and serve on the board of a museum as the Secretary. I try to be an example of my faith each and every day. Love to garden!! I do commentaries on scriptures and wanted to leave an example: After reading my scriptures this morning, and because I am still recouping after surgery, I stayed home from church today. I have been thinking about life and people in general. When Christ was on the earth, he sent his apostles out to teach and heal, they came and told him of a man who was casting out devils in his name. They told him that they forbid him to do that as he was not given the authority to do so. (He was not a follower.) What is fascinating about Jesus's answer tells us about how we should react today towards those who are good people who want to do good in life. He said to his apostles, "forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us." I applaud all those of other faiths who live to further the works of Christ in their respective religions. I am very grateful for those of other faiths who do not denigrate me and my love for the gospel. I am saddened by posts that come my way that try to persuade me that "Mormons" are delusional, or evil, or unchristian. I realize that we can differ in our views, but I rejoice that we can love God and His Son each in our own way. If a religion brings peace, and the love of fellow man, then that is worth value in my sight. May we all respect each other and stand for GOOD things that we know. Those who know me, know how much scripture study and my faith mean to me. Thanks to my friends and family who love me the way I am. Update: Am able to serve again as back up chorister in Relief Society and also as Assist. to the Compassionate service leader.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Nancy
One of the most important things that I have found in studying the scriptures, is the answers to questions in my life. If I am dealing with difficulty such as I have in the past with health issues; I remember praying for help and an answer as to why was this happening. I clearly remember hearing the words in my mind that I had studied in the scriptures of...."not thy will, but mine." It made me realize that there was a purpose, and I just needed to have the faith to struggle through. That is just one example of a question I had in my life that was answered. As you study and learn and ponder, your mind will often be open to the things that God wants you to understand. What a blessing that is and what a witness that He listens and is there for each of us.
