Hi I'm Christian Allen

I grew up in Utah. I am from a family of six. I have two brothers and a sister. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sports fanatic I grew up playing soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. I tried about every sport out there. As I started high school I adventured out and tried other sports like Cross country and track which I fell in love with and began devoting my time and energy towards. Originally I was not a big fan of running and only did it to help train for soccer over the summer. Although after a few summers of training with the high school xc team I discovered the big talents I had been blessed with from God in running. So after getting cut from my high school soccer team my freshman year I decided to try track out. I really enjoyed running because it pushed me to a new level then any other sport had. It's a sport where you control the outcome not your coach, team mates, or opponents; you get what you put in and you get to see the rewards of training hard every week. I had many other hobbies/sports I also enjoyed doing but not in a competitive league. A few of those things were snow boarding, long boarding, golfing, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee. I am from a family of six in which I am the oldest. Sometimes being the oldest isn't always the easiest but I loved the opportunity I was given to be an example to my two younger brothers and younger sister. Being the oldest allowed me to help teach my brothers and sisters in many things as we bounded, whether it was in sports, a spiritual sense, school, or anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God. I know that this church is ran by God through holy prophets, seers, and revalators. I know that Joseph smith was a true prophet sent down to this earth during the early 1800s to help restore God's church along with the priesthood authority and keys to run his church as ran in the days of Christ ministry on earth. I Also know that the Book of Mormon is true and was translated by Joseph Smith with God's help. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ along with the Bible. Both books feed us stories and teachings of Christ, his apostles, and prophets of old along with an account of the people who lived in the Americas and Egypt. I know with out a doubt in my mind that the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it and prayed to our Heavenly Father with a pure heart and real intent having faith in Christ, that he will manifest the truth unto me through the holy spirit, to receive an answer as Moroni 10 promises to everyone. The answer I received was a feeling of such great peace and reassurity that no one could ever tell me different or tell me my feeling was fake. I know it wasn't fake because I prayed and the Great and Holy spirit witnessed the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I promise to you if you will just read the book and earnestly pray with good intent as God for an answer, you too can receive the same confirmation and feeling I received. Although I know without a doubt in my mind that this Is the true and same church as was on the earth during Christ ministry that is not the only reason I am mormon. I am mormon because it is the best decision I could have ever made in my entire life. As I am active in living the commandments and attending my church meetings it has given a new purpose and brightness to my life. I know there is a purpose to life, that I am a Son of God, and that he knows my struggles and imperfections but he still loves me.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of the savior and my faith in the LDS church as I go to school, sports, dates, and other activities outside of Church because people pay attention to the things I say and do. If I am doing things opposite of the churches teachings people will connect those things I do with all church members and the church itself. I don't drink tea, coffee, beer, wine or any other drinks that are contained in the word of wisdom, keep the law of chastity and have no sexual relationships until I am married and then only to my wife. I don't view pornography or participate in other activities that will arouse sexual feelings. I don't take the Lords name in vain and watch my words the best I can, by refraining from using swear words, crude jokes, or other rude words or phrases. By keeping these commandments given to us by Prophets of God and asking others to respect my beliefs I can be a good influence and example to them. I participate in home teaching with my dad every once a month where we are assigned to visit 3 families in our church ward/neighborhood and check on how their family is doing, any needs we can help them with, and provide a message that can invite the spirit while in their home. I also love to go to our temples with friends, family and myself to perform work for people that have already died so if they accept the gospel being taught to them in heaven their ordinances will already be performed (Which is what we do in the temple) they can progress in their work to the live with God and their family for forever. In order to go to the temple you have to meet with your bishop or other church leader having the priesthood authority to make sure you are keeping commandments and worthy to enter the temple. I also have been called to serve a mission for my church in which I leave behind my family, track scholarship, friends, schooling, and work by putting it all on hold to take upon Christ name and act as a minister and example of him as I teach his gospel.
