Hi I'm Rebecca Morrison

I come from a family of eight. I love to learn about new things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to college right now. I'm currently a Business Major; my end goal is to earn a MBA and open a non-profit organization. I'm a Sophomore in College, but I'm leaving this summer to take a year and a half break as I serve a mission for my church in Puebla, Mexico. I love to be involved in service. As a youth, I participated in Youth City Council, the High School National Honors Society, and the Hugh O'Brian Leadership through Service program. I currently participate in many service projects including collecting donations for Toys-For-Tots each Christmas and annually volunteering at the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Conference as Staff. I have received the Presidential Service Award. As much as it sounds like a "scholarship essay's answer," it's absolutely true that performing service is one of my favorite hobbies. I come from a large family. I have one older sister, one younger sister, and three younger brothers. My family loves to laugh together; one of our favorite shows to watch is the youtube channel "Studio C." My family also loves to be active. All of my brothers play football and do wrestling. I love hiking and my other two sisters love nature walks.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. I know that God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son appeared to Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove. I know that through Joseph Smith, they restored their church to the earth. That same church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have had too many experiences that confirm the existence of God to believe otherwise. I have had too many experiences that confirm that He loves me to believe otherwise. I have had too many experiences that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church to believe otherwise. In the words of Joseph Smith "I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it." If you feel like you're missing something in your life, please talk to the missionaries. Please pray. I promise you that God wants you to be happy, and He will help you to find what you need.

How I live my faith

I love to be involved in service. I've mentioned some of my favorite service opportunities already, but while I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of these great organizations and to participate in these great projects, my favorite type of service is personal, one on one service. I love my Visiting Teaching Calling within my ward; I am assigned two sisters in my ward to visit at least once every month. During our visits, I talk with them, share a message of our shared faith, and find out what I can do to serve and help them out in their lives over the next month. Because of my calling, I've had the opportunity to support and love people whom I might not have otherwise interacted with. I'm leaving soon to serve a full time mission for the church for a year and a half. During my mission, I'll serve the people within my mission. I'll be preaching the Gospel, but I'll also be assisting in other things that people need help with. For example, I could be helping plant a garden or move a family. The people whom I help will not only be members, but will mostly be people who are not members of the church. These people are still my brothers and sisters, and children of God, and I am serving a mission to help them find the happiness that I have found through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
