Hi I'm Teresa

I'm a Mormon and I grew up in Auckland and now I live in Dunedin. I have been a member 18 years.

About Me

Hi there I love to sing and dance and write poems. I love the gospel with all my heart. I like to help others in the community. I would like to study in Human and Social Services. I love to cook and bake. I love driving around the country side or just enjoy driving. I used to be the local taxi driver and enjoyed meeting lots of people. I love animals. I am unemployed at the moment and will be going to study next year Human Services for a year and then Social Services for 3 years full time.

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was a little girl I had been seeking the true doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I eventually found the Lord I needed to seek his true church. After all the experiences that I had witnessed looking into other churches they run differently to my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In other churches you can drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes even drink coffee and tea. I thought it was okay but it wasn't. What I learnt in my Church is that all those things like smoking and drinking coffee and tea etc... was not okay. It still affects the body in a way that it is destroying our body. When I found the right church and how I knew it was the right church is threw the rules and laws of God. It was all about how we respect ourselves and how we can look after ourselves as well be loved unconditionally through those that know there place in the church and understands. we are all learning everyday in our lives and we all make mistakes. With our Savior and Heavenly Father there with us and to have our hearts open unto them we can be just like Christ. In my life it has been miserable and with out the Lord in my life, I am nothing, I am alone, and because of the gospel I have been able to see the light at the other end of the tunnel. I love the gospel with all my heart, I would not trade it for anything or anyone. I have received many blessings and at times I don't deserve it. Because of Heavenly Father's love for me, he has given his Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for me and my sins. I have been a member of my church family for 18years The kindness the joy the trials and all, I have all the support I need, my church family and my Savior that is with me through the hard times and the burdens he takes off my shoulders. The Lord is merciful, his love is unconditional because of our Heavenly Father gave us his Son so that it is possible for us to return back home to him. There is life after this, there is love and support and joy in our hearts.

How I live my faith

My job in the church is a Relief Society Visiting Teacher District Supervisor and Visiting Teacher. Relief Society is a class that the woman attend at church. My job is to check my list of sister's to see if they have done their jobs as Visiting Teachers and that I also have done my job with my companion to visit our sisters that are on our list to visit. We see that they are okay and if anything we can do to help as well as share the message of the month from the LDS Ensign which we have online now with Technology that we have today. We like to visit our in-active members and like to help out as much as we can. I love my job in the Church. I love being apart of my Ward at church. There is a lot of love with in the walls of the church. I love to bake for the sister's or anyone just to put a smile on their face is a wonderful feeling especially when someone really needs to you, you are there.
