Hi I'm Kennedy Lawrence

I am a Star Wars fan. I am violinist. I am a Dr. Pepper lover. I am a sexual abuse survivor. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old. I am about to serve a mission after 2 1/2 years of having my papers put on hold again and again. I am a HUGE fan of Star Wars. I work at a fruit stand and would love to open my own and eventually farm for it as well. Aviation is always something that has interested me, I would love to eventually learn to fly. I am a big risk taker. If it gets the adrenalin pumping I would do it. I am a sexual abuse survivor. I hope to be a mom and a wife one day. I hope to show others that there is someone that loves them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member. And I chosen to be a member of His church. It has been a contribution of a lot of trials and acts of faith that have built my testimony of the gospel. It bring a joy into my life that I can't find anywhere else.

How I live my faith

I am now a full time missionary, after 2 1/2 years of delays on my mission papers. I was a branch missionary right before being out on my mission. I get to work closely with the Elders and with everyone that is in the branch or is meeting with the Elders. I love being able to get to know everyone and being able to show them that I care about them.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Kennedy Lawrence
I don't think in this life we will ever be able to fully understand what the Atonement is, but I do know that it is the most important event in the history of the world. Jesus Christ, our Savior suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane. He died on the cross at Calvary, and was resurrected three days later. He atoned for all of our sins. He has felt all of our pains, afflictions, heartaches, and disappointments. He knows us perfectly. And because He loves us perfectly and He loves our Father in Heaven perfectly He did what we would never be able to do. Because God is merciful He has provided a way, but this plan of mercy could not happen without a Savior to atone for our sins to appease the demands of justice, "that God might be a perfect, just God, and merciful God also" (Alma 42:15) Christ is the only one that could appease the demands of justice. We will never be able to fully understand it, but we are able to use it in our daily lives. The Atonement allows us to receive forgiveness of our sins and be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father. It heals me, and you of anything and everything. Of our heartache, our sorrows, and our pains. Through Him we are able to become better, to become more like Him. And by it we are able to feel our Savior Jesus Christ perfect love for us, and also we can feel of our Heavenly Father's perfect love for us. Show more Show less
