Hi I'm Tylona

I was born and raise in Anchorage, Alaska. I enjoy singing, listening to people, and being a missionary! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a proud Alaskan who's spent most of my life loving and living in the city of Anchorage. I love singing and spending time with my friends from work and church. I like to spend time with my family and watch uplifting shows. I have a General Associate's Degree form the University of Alaska Anchorage. I enjoy video editing and media. One day hope to pursue it more seriously, but for now I'm living the dream of being a missionary in Billings Montana! I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I'm looking forward to the next several months of serving here in Montana.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church so it always been a part of who I am, but there comes a point when we need to all find out for ourselves what is right rather than relying on what others think is right. In high school, I really struggled with self image and I still do today. I made poor decisions that kept me from feeling God's spirit in my life. This continued into college and I knew I had to make a change, but I was ashamed and scared. One day at church, I had the strongest feeling of love from my Heavenly Father and I knew I had to talk to someone as soon as possible and I did! I was received with nothing but support from the people who loved me and I knew that the sacrifice of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ had the power to wash away my sins and make me happier and better. The barriers that kept me from feeling God in my life were gone and I've been able to grow so much since that day. I know this church has truth and hope. We must all practice faith in God and humble ourselves before Him to know of His love for us. I am grateful for the Savior in my life and for the knowledge of the truth.

How I live my faith

I love participating in my church and community. I love music, so I'm grateful for the opportunity I've had to serve every Sunday as the ward chorister. I've also had the opportunity to teach the women of the church once a month using teaching manuals provided by the leaders, as well as God's guidance to help me know what to teach and how to inspire those who are willing to listen. After all that, I was called to be a missionary the Montana Billings Mission, which I love so much! For a year and a half, I will be spending all my time proselyting and sharing our great message with the world with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
