Hi I'm Joshua Andreason

I'm a military kid, I the like mountains, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up all over: Maryland, Illinois, Texas, Germany, California, Ohio, Utah and Alaska. I spent middle school and high school in Ohio, so it's where I call home. I go to school at Brigham Young University in Provo and I'm a Mechanical Engineering major. I've been studying German for a while--I went to German school, and then later studied the German language in middle school, high school and now college. However, I've been called to serve a mission in Bulgaria, so I'll be working on studying Bulgarian these next two years. For a couple summers I worked at a Boy Scout camp in the Tetons, just one mile south of Yellowstone. There, I worked as a lifeguard, merit badge instructor (I taught Swimming, Kayaking, Small Boat Sailing, Rowing, Life-Saving, First Aid, Canoeing, Environmental Science and Pioneering. Knots hold a special place in my heart.) Honestly, there's nothing I love more than a clear, cold mountain lake.

Why I am a Mormon

The church has never led me to do anything that is bad. The words of our prophets today and the words of the prophets long ago all testify of Christ as the Savior and urge me (well, all of us) to follow him and obey his commandments. And Christ commands us to love and serve others and follow him. So really, it's pretty simple: the gospel of Christ and of this church help me to become a better person and do good things, so why wouldn't I choose to become a member of his church? I've come to know that THIS church is HIS church by praying and fasting to know if that is true.

How I live my faith

I play piano, and I sing in the choir for my ward (congregation). Unfortunately I never got good enough at violin or guitar to be much help. I've given lots of lessons as a Sunday School teacher and in other callings. I've participated and helped organize quite a few service activities, but helping with Eagle Scout projects and volunteering at soup kitchens keeps me pretty busy.
