Hi I'm Caleb Pike

I grew up in Oklahoma. I love natural remedies, Star Wars and sport fencing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Missionary serving for two years in the Santa Rosa California Mission. I chose to serve after becoming a nationally Certified Massage therapist. Right now I serve the Lord full time doing what ever I can to help those around me and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At home before my Mission my great passions where creating leather masks, sharing Native American legends with children, Sports Fencing (because it is as close to using a light saber as I'm ever going to get), Star Wars and anything that involves creating something new.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Southern Baptist. This had been the faith of my Fathers family for generations. All my life I was always curious and praying to know. "Where did I come from?" I always believed I was in the presence of God before I was born. But know one would talk about such ideas. I was told to keep them to myself. I also wondered, "what happens to those who die and never heard of Jesus?' Well the answers I was given did not match the loving God I know. So I became non denominational and simply believed that no one had answers to my questions or believed as I did. Then a member of my family was meeting with the Missionaries. I took the lessons to, more out of support then actual interest. Then when I least expected it, they began talking about where we came from. How we where in the presence of God before our birth. Truly they answered every burning question I had since I was a young child. I had prayed to know if it was true just as the Missionaries asked me to. After many lessons I received no answer. God was very quiet indeed. Then I realized I was not asking with true faith and desire, my heart was not all there. So while the Missionaries talked with my family one day I pored out my soul hoping for an answer. Is it true? I received my answer. I felt it more than heard it. A great feeling of peace and exciting joy swelled within my chest. I knew I needed to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized a second time. The first time was with water, but the second time would be with the power and authority that would give me the Holy Ghost. I've been a member for 14 years now and I'm still learning. But every day has more light then it ever had before. Every promise the Missionaries made me has come true. I promise you, that if you take the Missionary lessons with an open heart & pray. You will gain a stronger faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ then you ever had before. You will become an amazingly powerful child of God.

How I live my faith

Living my faith has been a life long learning experience. I've learned that if you don't live your faith, you will lose what you've learned and fail to recognize the miracles that happen every day. So every day I strive to write down how I've seen the hand of the Lord work miracles in my life. Sometimes life is hard, and writing it down is even harder, especially since I'm dyslexic. But if I remember who I am & where I come from, that I am a child of God, the day can transform into something beautiful. The Community, Teaching and serving others when ever and how ever I can is one of the great joys of how I live my faith. As a Missionary I'm able to do so full time by giving up two years of my life to the one who gave me life in the first place. For the community I work in the community gardens, remove graffiti, clean up the parks and help organize events that draw people together as the family we truly are.
