Hi I'm Samantha

I grew up in Idaho. I love the outdoors. I play the piano. I sing. I love to read. I'm a missionary in Alaska. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love music! I've played the piano since age 7 and the organ since age 15. I started singing in my school and ward choir my freshman year of high school, and was able to accompany those choirs starting at the age of 17. It's a rare occasion that I go very long without at least listening to some type of music. I also love learning. Math and English were my favorite subjects in school, and I plan on majoring in accounting and finance in college. Reading takes up a good part of my time too. It's a perfect way to spend a day- sitting on the porch in the sun or listening to the rain while reading a good book is the perfect relaxing activity. I spend quite a bit of time outdoors, whether it's riding four-wheelers, fixing fence and doctoring cows with my dad or spending some time in the yard or on the little beach we have here in my home town with my mom- outside in the fresh air is the place to be! Spending time with friends is incredibly important to me- bonfires and night games to laser tag and movie nights- we do it all!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon and have been an active member my whole life. It's something that helps me in all that I do, whether it's something spiritual or something pertaining to my life here on earth, there's nothing I've found that the teachings of this church can't help me with. I believe with all my heart and mind that this is the true church, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, and that we have a living prophet today. The Book of Mormon- Another Testament of Jesus Christ- has helped me and given me guidance more than once in my life and I am grateful for it's teachings. Like the Bible, it was written by prophets of old, but the teachings in it still apply. It is a true book. This gospel and it's teachings have helped me through hard times, including the passing of my aunt in an automobile accident, and the death of my cousin. It's comforting to know these truths- that families can be forever, that we are not alone in what we face, that Christ atoned for our sins and our pains and sorrows and knows exactly what we are going through. No matter what, He understands and He will help us through anything, no matter how big or small, if only we turn to Him. He loves each and every one of us individually and wants us all to succeed. This gospel, being a Mormon, means the world to me, and I wouldn't trade my testimony of this gospel for anything! It's of eternal worth.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in the Alaska Anchorage Mission! We take in all of Alaska and the Ukon Territory of Canada. I get to serve and teach the people here until April 2018 when I will return to my home in Idaho. When I was at home I did many things in the church to serve there like accompanying the choir and teaching the 4-5 year olds. I absolutely loved doing those things! I try my best to live my beliefs in my everyday life, daily scripture study and prayers and living my standards are very important to me!
