Hi I'm Brent

I was born in Utah and raised in Michigan. I love learning about anything and everything. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a varied set of interests. I love sports, from playing football and soccer and wrestling, to watching anything I can find on TV. I also participated in several theater productions. I'm interested in pursuing an engineering major at BYU-Provo when I begin attending in Fall of 2018. In the meantime, I will serve as a full time missionary from August 2016 - August 2018 in the Philippines San Pablo Mission, speaking Tagalog.

Why I am a Mormon

I have worked to develop a strong testimony of my Lord Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Church, and developed a superficial knowledge of the basic doctrines of the Church. Over my teenage years, as I exercised my individual freedom to make choices in line with God's commandments, I developed a testimony of gospel principles. First, I had a spiritual experience that convinced me of the reality of God's love for me. Then came fasting, prayer, the Word of Wisdom. I had a testimony of scripture study, but I was only converted to this doctrine and received blessings when I acted upon my testimony and read from the words of the prophets every day. As I used the Atonement of Jesus Christ to begin to change, I furthered my desire to serve a mission. It has been through diligence and exercising faith that I have received many blessings through this Church. I have noticed that I am happiest when I am 100% committed to living the gospel, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I served in various leaderships roles while in the youth, directing and delegating my peers while learning my strengths and weaknesses as a leader. I also serve as a home teacher, visiting two to three families and supporting and serving them. When the option came to serve as a full-time missionary, I spent time preparing myself and strengthening my testimony, and when the time came I began my mission to the Philippines San Pablo mission. I serve to help people come to know the joy and knowledge I've come to love.
