Hi I'm Hunter Kunz

I grew up in Middleton, Idaho. I am currently a missionary to bring families and individuals closer to Christ. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised LDS, graduated with my Associate's degree in General Studies from BYU-Idaho, and have been called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission (September 2016-March 2018) so that I can bring other families and individuals closer to Christ. I enjoy learning and being among God's creations and sharing happiness with others. I love backpacking in the mountains, eating rocky road ice cream with friends, and baking yummy treats.

Why I am a Mormon

Having grown up in this church, I didn't doubt that it was a good one, but the way I imagined living my life after high school was different than what the church taught. I was actively participating in church, and I loved the social life I gained from it, but my heart wasn't in it. The fact that I wasn't giving my all really bothered me, and so I decided to really investigate my own faith. Every question I had about life was answered through what I had been taught growing up. Any wrongs I had done, I knew I could be forgiven and clean through Jesus Christ. I reevaluated my plans for the future and looked at if they would give me any true and lasting happiness, and where I saw that it wouldn't I changed my plans. I wanted to know if this church was really was something that would help me grow spiritually and as a human being. Something I learned growing up was that if you made a choice and started down that path, signs would pop up showing you if this was something you should do or red flags would pop up showing you it's not a good path. So I chose to dive into the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My life hasn't been easy, but the joy that I feel and the peace this church's teachings and actions bring me is unable to be matched by anything I have experienced in my life so far. I know that God really does still speak to prophets in these days and that we are chosen to be Christ's hands here not only to help others but to grow personally in the process of reaching out. I not only believe in Christ, but I love Him as my brother and savior, and I know He will love me through anything, lift me where I fall short, and that with Him I can accomplish any good thing that I desire to do.

How I live my faith

I participate in my faith by opening my eyes to the needs of God's children in order to reach out and serve them. I love volunteering to work in the temple, where I can help other members of the church feel peace and grow closer to Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven. Daily prayer and scripture study gives me constant inspiration for how I can be a strong disciple of Jesus Christ.
