Hi I'm Jonathan

I love sports, I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports and spending time with family. The mountains are one of my favorite places to visit. Traveling is alaways something I have enjoyed. I love the outdoors and being in the mountains. I plan on working and attending college after I serve my mission. I am currently in Houston Texas, teaching in the Spanish language. Serving a mission has been an amazing experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know it's true. I have prayed about it and there really isn't anything like it! I grew up in the church but I spent most of my childhood relying on my parents testimonies. I was sort of a wayward child, and never quite got along with my parents. It wasn’t until my senior year in high school, and due to an awesome seminary teacher, that I really changed. I gained a desire to serve a mission, and gained a testimony of my own. Now without a doubt I can say that I know that this really is the only true church on the earth.

How I live my faith

I was lucky enough to be a home teacher for some awesome families. I am going to serve and LDS mission in Houston Texas, and will teach/serve the people. Serving in Texas is a blessing. It can be really hot and humid, but I have grown to love the people here. Acts of service is one way we can be like Christ, showing outward expressions of our inner commitment. Due to the recent hurricane and floods we have been able to help people fix their homes and get back on their feet.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Jonathan
As a missionary our job is to help others come unto Christ. I am currently in Houston Texas, and we recently had a hurricane come through. It devastated the area. Streets were flooded, and the apartments across the street from me were flooded to the second floor! After the floods receded we went straight to work. Thousands of members went out with those yellow Mormon Helping Hands t-shirts and helped the community. They kicked out houses, distributed food, and offered shelter for people with nowhere to go. Service is a huge part of our beliefs, and we try to offer acts of service whenever we can. Show more Show less
