Hi I'm Cydney

I grew up in Utah. I go to school at for Theatre Education. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student working on my Bachelors degree in Theatre Education with a minor in Psychology Education. My goal after graduation is to teach both in a local high school. I have been performing in choirs and shows since the age of four. The arts have made me who I am and I can not imagine my life without the them. I also really enjoy reading good books. I enjoy being taken to new and unforgettable places through words on the page. I come from a very large family. My parents are divorced and both are remarried. Between my siblings, step-siblings, and half-siblings my family feels like The Brady Bunch from time to time. I have always loved coming from a big family, life is never boring.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church and I have always attended my Sunday meetings. However, I wouldn't say that I was truly converted to Christ and this church until recently. For years I struggled with a lot of questions and I felt like I wasn't getting the answers I needed. I started to slowly pull away from the church. I noticed as I pulled away I was becoming less and less happy. It was then I decided it was time to make a change. I began to kneel in prayer more often and make sure to read my scriptures daily. I began to talk to close family and friends about the questions I had. As I continued to attend church meetings and ask God in prayer for help I began to find happiness again. While doing the things the questions I had began to be answered. I still don't have all of the answers but I learn more everyday through prayerful study. This church and my faith makes me happy. I can not wait to share my faith and the happiness I have felt because of it with the people in Kentucky. I know with all of my heart that this church is true. I know that I have a Father in Heaven watching over me and that my Savior Jesus Christ lives. I know the Book of Mormon is true doctrine and that it builds upon the Bible. I know the leaders of the church are led by divine power and I sustain them. I know I have the opportunity to live with my family for eternity if I follow the commandments, and I am so grateful for that. I am Mormon because it makes me happy. It helps me live the kind of life I want to live and be the person I want to be. I am Mormon because I believe in this church with all of my heart and I love it.

How I live my faith

In the past I have lived my faith by serving as a leader in both youth and adult groups. I have helped organize activities for the church and taken part in many service projects. I have had many opportunities to teach in church meeting and I have loved it. I visit ladies in the assisted living center by my house and have helped with church services there. Just recently I was able to serve as a leader at a youth camp and it was incredible. Now I am living my faith by preparing to serve and 18 month mission in Louisville, Kentucky for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For 18 months I will serve with other young adults and we will all work together to bring others unto Christ. For 18 months I will give up family and friends, my schooling, and work. This is not something I was pushed or forced to do, but something I want to do. I am excited to serve and to help others find the joy I have found from my faith.
