Hi I'm Connor Peterson

I come from two cultures. I love rugby. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Virginia until the age of ten, when I moved to Shanghai, China. 6 years later, I found myself in Beijing. I ended up living in China for 8 years! I'm half-Chinese and I grew up completely between two cultures. I love to watch movies and TV—maybe a little too much—and I love sports, especially rugby. I'm currently assigned to labor as a missionary in the San Jose California mission speaking Mandarin Chinese.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up surrounded by the gospel but I felt like there came a time in my life where I needed to decide what paths I should go down. I realize that the strength of my testimony in the gospel of Jesus Christ is rooted in whether or not we are willing to nourish ourselves spiritually. The feelings and convictions of my faith in Jesus Christ is impossible to describe. I have been surrounded by a lot of different opinions all throughout my life and at times it would be so easy to lose sight of the truth if I didn't keep strong to what I knew. Holding strong to my testimony has helped me through tough times and helped me gain so much peace and joy in my life.

How I live my faith

Serving a mission has been such a great experience for me, especially understanding what a huge decision it was to make such a commitment. To leave for two years to preach the gospel was a task that I originally felt like I couldn't do, because of the difficulties I knew I would face and the weaknesses that I have, but when I went on a mission in faith I learned a lot about how much the Lord has given me and how He can make my weaknesses strong. I strive to constantly serve other people in what little ways I can so that I can come closer to God's perfect love for all His children.
