Hi I'm Michael Schuler

I grew up in Torrington. I am a convert. I will be serving a mission in Peru.

About Me

I am 19 years old, I converted to the church just over a year ago. I love to be outdoors and love to work with my hands. Talking with the missionaries was a breeze because immediately I understood everything and wanted to be baptized. I love to golf and play basketball. I just recently recieved my mission call and I'm overly excited to fulfill that calling.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion story follows my Stake Presidents quite closely. We both converted at the ripe age of 18. I met a family in my town and something always seemed a little bit different about them. It wasn't until I asked the father if I could date his daughter that I found out what that difference was. He explained to me that they were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and also talked to me about the Book of Mormon. Without anyone knowing I read part way through the Book of Mormon before asking if I could talk to the missionaries. I took all the discussions in with ease as everything felt right to me and as I prayed to know if this church was true I would always find myself with a warm comforting feeling inside. A short couple months later I was baptized and had my eye on serving a mission just as the missionaries that helped my be baptized were doing. I have a testimony that this church is true, that the Book of Mormon is also the true word of our Heavenly Father. I know He lives, and knows each and every one of us personally. This testimony means the world to me and always helps me out when I find my trials being too hard to bear.

How I live my faith

I am very active in my ward, I have a couple different callings. I get to teach primary to the 8 year old's which is such a blast. I also am a Family History consultant. I love to go and do home teaching. I get to see about 6 families once sometimes twice a month and that's always something to look forward to. Reaching out whenever possible to those in need in the ward is truly rewarding.
