Hi I'm Kaitlin

I grew up in Bountiful, Utah. I love to spend time with my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to hike, read, and sing. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I enjoy discussing gospel topics with my family and friends. I enjoy discussing health and learning more about it too.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that it is the true Church. I have been a member my whole life, but when I found that it was true, was when I was really young. I always knew that it was true. I remember learning the miracles of the Savior in Family Home Evening one night and a feeling of love and peace came over me. I learned about Christ's atoning sacrifice and felt the power of God lifting my heart. I have grown to love the teachings of Christ and the love that Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ has for me. I know that Heavenly Father sent his son to atone for the sins of all man who use it. When you look at a piece of grass, it looks so simple, but it carries so many complex factors to it that no one can tell me there was not a God behind it all. Our bodies are so complex that how did we form the way we did without someone before us who looked like us. We were created in God's image, and in our own imperfections, our Father in Heaven sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ to come and sacrifice himself for our sins. I know that he was resurrected. I know that God is real. I know that Jesus Christ is real. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon holds truth and power. I know that we have prophets and apostles here upon the earth today. I know these things, and I say them in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I personally live my faith by keeping the Sabbath day holy. In other words, I keep Sunday a day of rest by going to all of my church meetings, and keeping Sunday a time to learn more about Christ and the gospel. I also live my faith by paying a full tithe and I try to keep the commandments of God. Each day, I try to do my best to become more like the Savior and to do good even if I make a mistake.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Jesus Christ chooses the Prophet since it is his church. He has always done so since Joseph Smith. When the Prophet Joseph Smith was martyred, the President of the Twelve Apostles who was Brigham Young became the next Prophet. God knows all things, and he is a God of order. He has a plan and he chooses who becomes the next Prophet of the the Church. When the current prophet passes away, the President of the Twelve Apostles becomes the new prophet and chooses two counselors from the Quorum of the twelve by the power and authority of God. What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom helps us to become healthier and it keeps us safe from the harm that strong substances could do to our body. We teach that our bodies are sacred and we should treat them like a temple. We should refrain from tobacco, alcohol, strong drinks, coffee, and tea and drugs. We should also eat meat sparingly. We should only eat these in times of winter, cold, or of famine. We do these things to keep our bodies clean and pure in the sight of God. Keeping the Word of Wisdom helps us to allow the spirit come in to our hearts and keep our minds clean. Show more Show less
