Hi I'm Madison

Born and Raised in Utah. Lover of Life. Currently serving in the Italy, Rome Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Utah. I am the eldest of 3 kids and just graduated from highschool. I have been playing volleyball since the fifth grade and hope to one day coach other aspiring athletes as well as become a physical therapist. I love to travel and meet new people, and have had the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world. Smiling is one of my favorite things, and I believe that life is meant to be one of much happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have learned that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and it makes me very happy. It guides me through this journey of life with direction and clarity; I know where I have come from, I know what I must do, and I know where I am going. Without this gospel in my life I would be lost and I would not be able to experience this life at its highest potential for joy. Even in the hardest of times I have been able to find comfort in my Savior, Jesus Christ. Being apart of this church has allowed me to better understand the atonement of Jesus Christ and to draw closer to Him. His loving atonement has taken regrets and burdens from my shoulders and has turned them to peace. I have seen God's hand in my life too many times to deny it and know that He directs each of our paths. I have felt the loving embrace of my Savior, who knows and loves us each individually. I learned for myself that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was translated my a modern day prophet, Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon has brought direction and peace to my life. I know that temples are a house of God and that within the walls of the temple a family can be sealed for time and all eternity, which is honestly the thing that brings the most joy to my heart. I am a Mormon because I have seen this gospel change many lives, including my own, for the better and know that as we strive to live righteously, we can return to our loving Heavenly Father one day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by continually trying to follow the example of Jesus Christ. My relationship with God and Jesus Christ is very important to me, and I continually draw closer to them as I pray, attend church, and read my scriptures. As I do these things I feel at peace. Serving and loving others is very important to me. I believe that as we love and serve others we are also showing our love for God. I have had the opportunity to serve as a leader for my ward youth group. In this calling I will sometimes teach lessons on Sunday's at church or help plan youth activities during the week. Most importantly it allows for me to befriend and help the youth around me. Currently I am serving a mission in Italy. I chose to serve a mission because I want others to learn of the true gospel of Jesus Christ and to feel of the love God has for each of us. The gospel has brought so much joy to my life, even when life has been hard, and I want others to feel of that same joy as they come unto Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The atonement of Jesus Christ allows for each of us to be made clean of our sins and one day return to live with our Heavenly Father. Without the atonement, no one would be able to return to live in the presence of God because all of us sin and would be unclean, and no unclean thing can enter in the presence of God. The atonement also covers every heartache that we feel in this life. Christ suffered for our sins as well for the hardships we face in the life. He suffered for each of us personally because he loves us more than we can comprehend. Any pain, physically or mentally, that we feel in this life, Christ also experienced when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane. The atonement allows for us to repent of our sins and to be forgiven. It allows us to feel comfort, peace, and joy in this life. Show more Show less
