Hi I'm Connor Barlow

I grew up in Utah. I have a deep love for music and sports especially soccer. I'm a mormon

About Me

I am the third of four children. I grew up and have spent my whole life in Utah spending most of my youth playing soccer and studying. When I have free time I love to play the piano or do something musical. I enjoy singing and love to sing tenor even though I'm really a baritone. I love to watch any sport but really enjoy going out to support my local soccer teams. I recently graduated and am preparing to serve my mission in Mexico. I plan to attend BYU following my mission

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in this church my whole life. Growing up it was never a question of if I would be at church it was just an expectation. I have never had any real trouble with this as I always enjoyed going to church because I felt good when I went and it gave me an opportunity to be with my friends and family. I never felt as if my parents really forced me to go to church but I did know it was an expectation and that was a big reason for me to go. When I was fifteen I began wondering why this was the only true church because lots of other churches had good doctrine and good people who were doing good and living a Christ like life. I also began wondering why if my family was living its teachings why we had so many challenges. Shouldn't we be blessed for living its teachings? This really bugged me for quite awhile growing up because I felt like I had more challenges than blessings in my life. After about a year of this being in the back of my mind I finally decided to just ask my Heavenly Father if this was true and if it was why did I feel like my life felt so hard. I only got half an answer that day. During that prayer the spirit testified to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church not the only church that has good in it and that it is the complete gospel of Jesus Christ found in the Bible and Book of Mormon together along with the authority of God that make this church different. I felt good about that but was still puzzled by the age old question of Why do bad things happen to good people. A month later it hit me. I realized that none of my problems came from the church and lots of good came from it. I realized that bad things happen to us because that's life sometimes but we have a Savior who knows and understands us and are trials more than we can know and though the problems won't disappear he is their to help us get through them and find happiness even in are trials if we humble ourselves and ask him.

How I live my faith

I serve in my church by playing the piano for the men before their meetings. I also serve by visiting and sharing a brief message with families or individuals in my neighborhood. I try to live my faith not caring what anybody thinks. What I mean is that my actions don't change because I'm at church or because I see someone I know or because I'm alone. I live my faith with integrity and try to be true to my faith at all times and in all situations
