Hi I'm Gideon

Born and raised in Washington state! I love the outdoors. I love our savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Some of my hobbies include hiking/climbing a lot of big mountains, such as Mount Rainier in the Olympic Mountain Range. It's very beautiful so you should look it up! I also love going on hikes and doing a lot of rock climbing. I don't think I could survive without it! Ha! I love learning new things whether they are easy or hard. I love the challenge. I am currently at BYU-I studying Mechanical Engineering. Called to serve in the South Concepcion Mission in Chile. I couldn't be more excited to serve the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon wasn't by force. It wasn't by persuasion, rather by choice. Choosing your own religion is your own choice. But for me, I chose this one. Though it seems like being born in to the religion, that's the only one you can choose, that is false. Although I grew up Mormon, I really didn't have the desire to when I was younger. I often wished I could do my own thing and not feel forced. I was kind of a rebelious child when I was going through High School. One day, I was hiking a mountain and I reached the summit. There I reflected on my past and how many trials I had endured. I kind of linked my life to climbing mountains. Yes it's hard. Yes the "climb" can be long but reaching the "summit" is totally worth it. Fixing any problems you have, any personal struggles, will always be hard. Nothing is every easy, but it's always worth it. Because of the Atonement that our savior has created for us by suffering and dying on the cross so that we could live with Him again; I know that by this glorious opportunity that I can always be forgiven of my sins and rejoice in the Lord. We can have everlasting joy if we work for it. I'm grateful for His gospel that He has brought forth so that we can taste that eternal joy. Our savior is our everlasting redeemer. Because of the things I learned, and the trials I went through, I converted myself. I truly found happiness in this gospel by understanding that it is by self understanding in the Lord's work that He has done for us that we can have the ability to live with Him. I'm a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it.

How I live my faith

As I was just living at BYU-I, I had been serving as a leadership position over the young men in my Young Single Adult ward to be as a steward in the Lord's example. I also hold home teaching positions which is where me and another young man teach a set of young ladies about the months' topic our church has put out. They're awesome! If you go to LDS.ORG and type in "First Presidency Message" you can find them on there! Outside of callings, I still hold myself to the greatest example to walk in Christ's footsteps. I try my hardest to serve Him in many ways and do all I can to love everyone around me.
