Hi I'm Harley

I'm an outdoors lover. I'm a dill pickle fanatic. I'm a girly girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The number one thing about me is that I LOVE to be involved in my community. I had the opportunity to be Miss Providence 2015 in my little town, I volunteer regularly with the CAPSA organization, I wrote for the school newspaper all throughout high school, and enjoyed being a member of the National Honor Society. You can always find me up in the mountains, taking hikes, traveling with my family, playing guitar, participating in pageants, and doing whatever else sounds like a good time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a household with non-member parents. My dad is a returned missionary who fell out of the church. But let me tell you this, my parents are AMAZING. I really believe that I have the best family, I have three younger siblings. . . even though we do all have our different beliefs, I am so thankful for them and love them unconditionally. When I was fifteen I went to a temple open house and even though I really didn't want to, I ended up enrolled in a seminary class. It completely changed my life. Beforehand, I prided myself in being non-religious. I thought that it was so unique to be non-religious in a state populated with Mormons. I quickly learned to understand why I was surrounded by so many Mormons. It was because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I could say so much about how I came to know that, but really it all comes down to Christ. The minute I learned about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I was converted. I love our Savior. While learning the Gospel, if I ever got unsure or frustrated with any of the doctrine, I would look at the picture on the wall in my seminary class, a picture of Christ. I could feel him there urging me on. Giving me encouragement and loving me always. I sure hope that you reach out to him and feel that love for yourself. I know that it is there for you. I love the Gospel with all of my heart and I now am preparing to serve a mission in London, England. I love the people there already and can't wait to serve them!!

How I live my faith

Oh boy, I think that living my faith is my most favorite thing ever in life:) Through church callings and just being invested in the Gospel of Jesus Christ I have risen to a place where I am more happy and more confident than I have ever been. I have been the Mia Maid President and Laurel President (Just president over the group of girls my age in young women) My senior year of high school I had the honor of serving on seminary council. I helped plan seminary activities, taught classes, helped plan and carry out assemblies, and shared my thoughts and feelings about the Gospel almost daily with all of my peers. It was the most amazing calling. It changed me in so many positive ways. I now am serving as the Chorister in my singles ward, so I just stand in front of the congregation and lead songs, I love this calling as well, it's pretty awesome. But in the church, it has been these callings and opportunities to serve and care about others that have made me so proud and happy to be a Mormon. I love the people I serve more than anything. If I am having a bad day, instead of focusing on what I can GET, I just focus on what I can GIVE. The day instantly turns into a great one. Out of all the times in my life where I have felt the most secure and like my best self, they are all times of service to others. I may not be a celebrity, someone who has a perfect life and no problems, or a talented rich professional at something. . . and that's ok. I am happy just being here to serve.
