Hi I'm Boyd

I'm a missionary, I grew up all over, I love archery, theater, and music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a missionary serving in the Santa Rosa California mission. I'm originally from Virginia but I lived in Ethiopia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Egypt growing up. In high-school I spent a good amount of time in theater and band. One of my favorite hobbies is archery.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and have always believed that it is true. I don't think there is just one singular reason that I have chosen to be active in my faith. A lot of it has to do with what I see my beliefs doing in my life. Because of the way that my faith has influenced me to live, I've seen a lot more happiness in my life. That doesn't always mean that I live without trials, but it does mean that I find peace through those trials. I also can't deny the feeling that I had at baptism. Even though I was only 8 when I got baptized, I still remember very clearly the feeling of just being weightless when I was baptized. Or the feeling i have every time I take the sacrament at church. Or whenever I read the Book of Mormon. While each of these examples, along with a few others seem, alone, small, together they let me know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the true church.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church I was able to help serve in the church by participating in various church sponsored activities. Many of these activities included local humanitarian projects or community service opportunities. Much of living my faith is about trying to follow the example that Jesus Christ set for us all. While I fall short of that example in plenty of ways, I'm always trying every day to do what is right and to be just a bit more like our Savior.
