Hi I'm Sam Weisler

Called to serve in the Alpine German-Speaking Mission, I'm from Aurora, IL. I love music, adventures, and sports and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love staying active and putting my talents to good use. I enjoy sports like Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, Volleyball and also just being outdoors. I enjoy art, for example making pottery. I listen and make music. I was called to serve in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland as a full-time Missionary for the Church. I love my international family, and I think it is awesome to experience and learn about other cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the spirit in my heart, testifying of truth. The Book of Mormon, as I have read and continue to read it, helps strengthen my testimony. It testifies of Jesus Christ, as does the Bible. I love my family and I want to be able to live with them for eternity. I want to be worthy to marry a Beautiful daughter of God in the temple and be sealed for time and all eternity and start an eternal family. I want to see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again someday. Those are the deepest desires of my heart and give me the most joy and I know that Heavenly Father wants us all to grow and be happy. Through this gospel all of these things are made possible and are central to the eternal plan of Happiness. All things denote that there is a God, I cannot deny his power and influence. I know that though I am imperfect, as all humans are and must be, that I can be forgiven for my sins and have the Holy Ghost with me again because Jesus atoned for all of our sins and was the perfect example, and he died so that we may live again and be resurrected and be able to repent. We are here on this earth to learn and grow and attain experiences so that we can be more like our Father in Heaven. The gospel of Jesus Christ, restored by Joseph Smith Jr., makes so much sense to me and the continual feeling of the Spirit in my heart as I do my best to obey the commandments and live the Gospel is a witness to me that what I am doing is right.

How I live my faith

Growing up in a Mormon family I've always had a deep love for church and the friends I have met there. As I have grown up I have done my best to balance early morning seminary class before school each day with work, extra-curricular activities, scouting, and church callings. I have had many callings which have given me opportunities to serve and lead my friends, learn more about and help others with family history work, and look out for and visit families in the ward as a Home teacher. With each new calling my testimony of the Church and the Gospel as being Christ's Church on the earth today has been strengthened. Everyone looks out for one another and we ascend together. Prayers of others can be answered by us fulfilling our callings to the best of our abilities.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Sam Weisler
I have a big family, and I love them all! Cousins, Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts, there are so many added to my circle that I call family. My Grandpa was the first person really close to me to pass away, and it was hard to see him go. I miss him so much and I know that a part of life is that everyone dies eventually even the people you love most. This fact is extremely depressing, but having the knowledge that our Church does brings joy and hope to life here on this earth. We believe that through ordinances performed in holy temples that families can be sealed together for eternity! I was born sealed to my parents because before I came along they were married and sealed for eternity in the temple. It brings me great joy to know that I will see them as well as my Grandpa again someday and that death in this life is not the end. Show more Show less
