Hi I'm Parker Pixton

I'm adopted. I live on an island in the San Francisco Bay. I play water polo. I'm a student studying finance. And I'm a mormon!

About Me

MY name is Parker James Pixton. I was born in falls Church Virginia and a couple of weeks later was shipped from one coast to the next when I was adopted by my amazing parents. I've lived in California my whole life, pretty much only on this small little island called Alameda in the SF Bay that I LOVE. I grew up swimming, I mean who doesn't when you're literally surrounded by the beach, but really started taking it seriously in high school paired with the wonderful sport of water polo. I gave up sports in general when I headed off to BYU Provo in Utah where Iam now studying business trying to get a finance degree.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has always been Mormon, but the reaons for me being a part of this church is a lot more than that. One intersting fact about my family is that three of the 5 other members of my family have all had some pretty serious cases of cancer. It's something that has been really hard but this trial really brought me to Christ. I know that he atoned for our sins, and he also took upon himself all the pains, sufferings, sicknesses and grief of everyone in the world, in order to help us overcome. I have had to rely on this knowledge pretty heavily at times and its helped me to gain a testimony of the church. This connection I have with Christ, especially in times of trials, has inspired me to get on my knees and discover the turthfulness and gain testimony of other parts of the church as well, espeically during times where life is actually going great. I've learned to rely on Christ and gain knowledge through that, but also search for turth when it doesn't appear to be drastically needed in my life, and I know that I have discovered truth and that is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

As of August 3rd 2016 I will be serving a mission for the Church in Paris, France. It's a wonderful opportunity for me to not only live my faith in an amazing way but share it with everyone else. I feel so privleged to be able to do that and want to be able to experience the joy of bringing the light of Christ into the lives of others. At home I live my faith by being an example to my three younger siblings as I am the oldest, as well as my friends and others around me. I love my faith and try to live it the best I can each and every day.
