Hi I'm Logan

I grew up in Portland, Oregon. I love hiking, camping, and swimming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. I am the youngest of four and the only boy in my family. Growing up, I played all kinds of sports; Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Football, Water Polo, and Swim Team. I've always had an interest in singing, so I joined a couple choirs in high school. I love singing all kinds of music, from rock and country to hymns and folk. I am currently serving a mission in St. George, Utah.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I grew up like Nephi, with goodly parents that taught me the Gospel, but I read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it, and learned for myself that it is the only true church on the planet today. Because I know the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith, the man who translated the book, is a true prophet. I know that he saw God the Father, and His son Jesus Christ as two separate beings, but one in purpose. I know that the prophet today, Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet as well. I know he receives revelation for the whole Church and what he says is scripture. I know that through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I can achieve my true potential while on Earth and in the afterlife to come.

How I live my faith

We are challenged by our savior, Jesus Christ, to be like Him. I do this by going to church on Sundays and partaking of the Sacrament, which is an ordinance where we agree to take upon His name and consecrate everything we do in His name as well. In return, I know God blesses me to have His Spirit to be with me. I pray, read scriptures, attend religion classes, and preform service when I can to improve myself. I try to be like Him by loving everyone, including those who have wronged me one way or another. A small compliment can mean so much to people.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Logan
The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ is our Savior. The Book of Mormon begins with a prophet named Lehi, his wife Sariah, and his four sons, Laman, Lemuel, Samuel, and Nephi. Lehi and his family lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. Lehi was commanded by God to leave Jerusalem and take his family into the wilderness. With God's help, Nephi built a boat for Lehi's family to sail across the sea and into the Americas. In the Americas, their families grew into large civilizations. The Book of Mormon teaches us that God calls prophets to lead His people. The Book of Mormon was written by prophets in the Americas before, during, and after Christ's ministry on Earth. The book receives its namesake from one of the last prophets, Mormon. Each prophet recorded his experiences, revelations, and teachings in the book. The Book of Mormon's underlying message is that those who do what God asks will prosper. The book also concludes with a challenge, those who read it and pray about its truthfulness will receive an answer to their prayer. It promises those that attempt this challenge will know it's true by the power of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
