Hi I'm Hannah

I'm from Utah. I'm going on a mission to California. I love learning new things. I love the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest in my family and have an older brother and an older sister. I have completed one year of college and loved it. I am a history major. My goal is to become a curator or an archivist. I love to travel and learn about new places and their culture and history. I also like to read, knit and every so often cook. I love music and I play the piano and oboe.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the LDS church to parents who were both devout members. But every member has to decide for themselves if they truly believe in the teachings of the church whether they were born into the church or not. I don't think there was any one moment or one experience that made me realize that everything I was taught about the gospel since I was a little kid was true. Different parts of my testimony came at different times and in different ways. But I do remember that when I was 12 I came to the realization that God personally knew who I was and loved me more than I could imagine. I think that became the basis for my testimony. If I couldn't know anything else, I could know that I was a beloved daughter of Heavenly Father. But once I came to know this truth I was able to see the truth in other gospel doctrines. I was able to see that God really did restore His church through Joseph Smith. I was better able to understand the sacrifice that Christ made when He performed the atonement. I was able to recognize the truths found in the Book of Mormon. I came to realize that God's commandments are worth following because they lead to our eternal happiness. I love this gospel. I have felt such overwhelming joy by following Christ. I know that I'm not perfect, but I know that the only way I can even hope to reach perfection is by living the gospel. Most of all I know that God loves His children no matter what and because He loves us He gave up His son so that we may have joy.

How I live my faith

I have mostly participated in the church by being part of and helping in my youth groups. As I've just recently become too old to be in the youth program I haven't had many callings. In my ward in college I was a ward missionary. My most recent and so far favorite calling is primary pianist. I get to play piano for the children's class in church and I love seeing the kids getting excited about the gospel. I am constantly amazed by how much they already know about the gospel and feel my testimony strengthened by their simple ones. Soon I'll be serving in the church by becoming a full-time missionary in Long Beach, California. I'm excited to dedicate my time and energy to teaching the gospel and I know I'll become more converted to the gospel myself by doing this.
