Hi I'm Ashley Shepard

I´m a Texan. I´m a BYU student. I´m currently serving a mission in Porto, Portugal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Porto, Portugal sharing the gospel with God´s children and teaching them about their Savior, Jesus Christ! Before I came on my mission I attended Brigham Young University for two semesters studying Theatre Education. I made life long friends there. We cover the world with our mission calls: Mexico, Canada, Arizona, Japan, Chile, Brazil, England, California, Portugal. My family members are my best friends. It's hard to leave them for a year and a half, but I know that bringing other families unto Christ will make the sacrifice worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the one and only true church. I know that it is the same church that Christ established while He was on the Earth. Because of my membership in the church, I have come to the knowledge of the cleansing, enabling, and comforting power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon, because I love my family and I want to be with them forever. And because of proper Priesthood Authority, and the Holy Houses of the Lord, I can be sealed to them for all eternity and be with them even after death. I'm a Mormon, because I have seen the power of the Priesthood in my life and have watched it heal and strengthen myself and those that I love. I'm a Mormon, because my faith has encouraged me to strengthen my personal relationship with God. I know that He loves me and will answer my prayers. I'm a Mormon, because I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that it was translated by Joseph Smith. It has brought me great comfort in times of trial. I'm a Mormon, because of the direct revelation we receive from God through His prophets that guide the church and the world in today's times of evil and confusion. I'm a Mormon, because of the immense blessing it is in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be better every day and strengthening my relationship with God. I try to be an obedient missionary and fulfill my purpose by helping those around me come unto Christ. I try to look for opportunities to help and serve others. Helping people come unto Christ and to feel God's love for them brings me so much joy!
