Hi I'm Michael Saulls

I grew up in Roseburg, Oregon. I leave for the Peru Lima West Mission in October 2016. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In my town, I am involved in choirs and accapella groups. I enjoy playing the piano, which my mom taught me. After my 2 year mission to Peru, I am going to BYU Provo to study prosthetics.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only organization on the earth with the fullness of the truth and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost has testified that to me. I love the people here. I love the leaders and they provide so many protecting words from the hardships of life. I am eternally grateful that you and I can both utilize the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He has provided that way to repent and become better, but also provides strength to our inabilities, progress to our lives, help with our weaknesses, and healing to our sorrows. He truly is the Son of God and the only way back to our Father. I am SO excited to serve a 2 year mission in Lima, Peru so that I can learn how to better serve those around me and share the wonderful message of the Gospel. I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I LOVE it.

How I live my faith

I love to read and study the scriptures. I love how they can help me in my everyday life so long as I know its content. I am grateful for the ability to pray to our Father in Heaven at any moment that we need or want to. He is such a help according to my faith, humility, and patience, even though He blesses me so much regardless of my imperfection. I love being able to go to the temple as often as I can. I live an hour and a half away from a smaller temple, but it is also even more of a special treat to travel to the Portland Temple and see its grand beauty. I love the Spirit felt there, both inside and outside of the temple's walls. I have been able to serve in my Young Men's groups throughout my teenage years, and there are so many ways that has blessed me-- I've been able to help them overcome challenges, get comfortable with new responsibilities, and see them grow past weaknesses and struggles. Being able to see that growth and change is the true joy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, both as the observer and the grower.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Michael Saulls
When we come to love the Gospel, it becomes the biggest part of our lives. Not only that, it becomes our life! We understand its power to heal, comfort, change, and light the paths of our lives. It becomes impossible to contain from other people because we know how much they could come to benefit eternally. It is too beautiful to be selfish over. Show more Show less
