Hi I'm Braden Balderree

I am a singer, missionary, gamer, welder, friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I am a missionary for the church serving in San Diego. I love to be in a shop and work with wood or metal. I love to sing and play music. I love to game in my free time, read, and help others. I went to a trade college for welding certification before I came out to San Diego to serve. I sang in Carnegie hall with some of my best friends, and I love to sing to people who need hope or encouragement.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church like most Mormons. I remember being raised as a kid to believe in all the things that our church taught. But as I grew to be a teenager, I started to question everything and live a life contrary to what my previous beliefs were. I kept a lot of lies to myself and only went to church for years because my family didn't know what I was doing. Finally, by the grace of God, I was caught and I felt it was important to repent or to change myself to stop sinning and doing wrong. When I did, I noticed a dramatic change in my life. Even though I wouldn't get the thrill of the things that I was doing wrong, when I did right, I felt a more eternal joy and God and Jesus Christ became a real part of my life. My life now has meaning. It has a purpose. I believe that I am here to learn and to grow, to develop more faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, or suffering for our sins. I believe that I can marry the love of my life in one of our temples and be sealed to her and my family for time and all eternity. Really, the reason I live this gospel, why I have dedicated 2 years of my life to sharing this message, and why I will live it actively and faithfully the rest of my life is because I know this gospel is true. And it requires some sacrifice, but I have come to understand that sometimes God asks us to give up something we may love to make room for something better. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that we do have the priesthood authority, access to the same power as Christ has, on the earth today through our prophets and those who have been deemed as worthy to hold it. I am a Mormon because this is Christ's one and only church restored upon the earth, and it is the way that I can be happy in this life, and on to the eternities.

How I live my faith

Serving as a missionary, I've had a wonderful chance to serve a lot of people. In our ward, (or congregation), missionaries help everyone with their responsibilities as best they can, especially when it comes to teaching the gospel. We also love to offer neighbors and people we meet free service. This is one of my favorite ways to help people. The best way, though, is when I get to share my testimony of this gospel and church with someone who may be touched by it and feel the truth of what I testify of. The gospel changes lives for the better, and it does wonderful things to the hearts of the church's members.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Braden Balderree
One of the most beautiful things about the Gospel is the Plan of Salvation. It is a plan that God made for our eternal happiness. Eternity is longer than a lifetime. Death is a part of that plan. After we die, we move on to the next "phase" so to speak. We go to a place called the spirit world, where our spirit continues on. We are still conscious, and still are who we were in this life. Here, we have more of a chance to progress. People who died who never got the chance to learn about the gospel can learn about it here. Those who were truly trying to repent or were trying to become better can continue to do so here. After that, we go through resurrection, were we receive our bodies again in a perfect state, and we are judged. if we did everything we should have, like going through the ordinances, which can be explained in another profile on this page, we can live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and have eternal and complete joy.
