Hi I'm shane

Grew up in Utah, land of the Mormons. I was converted on my own by reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. I'm Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing basketball, snowboarding, jeeping, fishing, hunting, BMX pretty much anything out doors. I'm currently a missionary for the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Later Day Saints. I only have one month left. Before my mission i worked construction doing footings and foundations which is concrete work for those that don't know.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because in my teenage years i was lost and looking for something better. I began to read everyday from the Book Of Mormon and it began to change my life. I was able over come some of the hardships that were holding me down and i was brought out of darkness into the light. My life began to change. When i felt ready i went back to church and eventually my family came as well. I felt at home there and i was receiving revelation about what i needed to do and the changes i needed to make in order to come closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Right now im a missionary so i go around all day talking to people on the streets, in their houses or any place i can. I help everyone who is in need and offer service to the poor and needy, old, young it doesn't matter. I build peoples faith in Christ by teaching them His doctrine and giving them invitations that will build their faith. I study from the Bible and the Book Of Mormon every day and i live the doctrine taught in them. I listen very closely to what God tells me to do and i strive to follow His guidance.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

look for the guys in the white shirts and ties. Type into google to find a church building and then go there on a sunday. Request a book of mormon online and missionaries will come to you. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

To those who really think that Mormons only help Mormons are silly. I have been on a mission for almost two years and have spent everyday all day serving non members of the church. I have brought people to the church and the members have wrapped their arms around them and helped them. The Members are encouraged to get out in the community and serve out of a pure desire to serve God's children. Now the members of the church are not perfect and we make mistakes. Do not judge a church run off of volunteers and not a paid ministry by its leadership or the members inside. If you want help from the church all you have to do is reach out. Now if a bishop senses you only want money from the church to keep supporting bad habits then of course hes not going to help with money. He will always offer support in other ways. It's also important to remember that the welfare program in the church is mainly for sustaining life not sustaining life styles. Show more Show less
