Hi I'm Ian

I am a huge nerd, a shameless Tar Heel, committed band geek and flute player, and an incredibly proud Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first year at UNC Chapel Hill (Go Heels!). I am very intellectual and an enormous pop culture nerd. I especially love Doctor Who, Sherlock, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Battlestar: Galactica. I'm a flute player in the marching band (Yes, guys can play the flute too). I'm about to serve a mission in Provo Utah from 2016 to 2018. I'm also a Navy Brat who has lived in San Diego, Washington DC, Hampstead NC and Rota Spain.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, and throughout my life I've always felt a sense of comfort from the fact that I'm involved with this religion. There are times when my faith does falter, but I always know that confirmation of our Heavenly Father's existence, love and involvement in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is always there if I sincerely ask for it in prayer.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures and go to church regularly. I'm about to go on my mission, which is essentially giving two years of my life to the church. I will be serving in the Utah Provo Mission.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon Missionaries proselyte because we know that we are called of God to spread His message of redeeming love to all people everywhere. As church members, we know our Father in Heaven's plan, and we know the absolute unconditional love He and His Son Jesus Christ have for all mankind, and we want to give everyone on Earth the chance to learn that for themselves.
