Hi I'm Kulia Kurihara

My names Kulia. Im going to be a missionary. Im a mormon.

About Me

My name is Kulia. I am half Japanese and half Hawaiian. I am originally from the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. I moved to Utah when I was 8, moved to Chicago when I was 16, moved back to Hawaii last year, and my family is moving to Seattle this summer. I just completed my first year of college this past year at BYUH and will soon be serving a mission in Tampa, Florida. I love soccer, playing the guitar, photography, and going on adventures.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because I know that the gospel is true. I know that Jesus sacrificed himself to atone for our sins out of pure love so that we would be able to return to our Heavenly Father again. I know that Heavenly Father sent us here for a purpose and that He has a beautiful plan of happiness for us. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he restored the church and priesthood back on this earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet today and that he speaks as a servant of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I am a Mormon because I have felt Heavenly Fathers love and I have seen and recognized His hand in my life. I have felt the spirit bare witness to me so many times that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to do what is right. I try to follow the commandments that I am given and strive to serve others. I have made so many mistakes in my life, but I live my faith by trying. I try to involve Heavenly Father in my life, it makes things so much easier because I know now that I do not have to go through things alone. I am leaving my personal possessions, friends, and family in about four more days to testify of the truth of this gospel because I know how much happiness, peace, and hope the gospel brings.

What is being a Mormon like?

Kulia Kurihara
Being a Mormon can be hard. Our standards are different from the worlds standards and not everyone follows what we do. It can be hard because we live differently and sometimes will feel like we stand alone on things. But there is also a strong unity with the members of the church and many blessings will come with knowing and living the gospel. I have also come to know that we are never alone, that the Savior always stands with us when we allow Him to be apart of our lives. Show more Show less
