Hi I'm Kyara Rice

I grew up in Alberta, Canada. I love my family. I love to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm 20 years old and am the oldest of three siblings who I love so very much! Honestly I couldn't have gotten any luckier with the family I have! Family vacations are something I always look forward to whether it be camping in Logan's Pass or Hawaii! It's the people that you go with that make the trip! Throughout high school I played the flute and alto saxophone. My whole life I have always been a very curious person in everything that I do. I love to know all of the details. My curiousness took flight when I decided how intrigued I was in seeing the world and learning about other cultures. I graduated in 2014 and that summer I volunteered with the organization HEFY and set off for Brazil where we built a house! I ABSOLUTELY fell in love with the culture, the people, the land, the food- everything about it. That fall I went to SAIT for their Travel and Tourism Program. I completed a year and then decided it wasn't the career path I wanted to take. The summer of 2015 I decided I wanted to go somewhere again so I planned a trip to Tanzania, Africa for the month of August 2015 and volunteered in an orphanage. Travelling is a part of who I am! I love the excitement of it all and the things that I discover while I'm doing so! I was planning on spending 4 months teaching English in Mexico this summer until something didn't feel right and I knew I was supposed to go on a mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know this church to be true with all of my heart. I have felt the spirit touch my life in so many ways. I've been through a lot of tough times throughout my life and whenever I've felt down about something or feel alone I turn to my Heavenly Father in sincere prayer and feel the love that he has for me and I know that everything is going to be alright through that comfort. Jesus Christ died for all of us and he suffered our sins so that we could live, all of the pain that we suffer he understands what we are going through. He is waiting for us to accept this gospel and to know that He loves us so very much and he's cheering us on. I know that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me in this life and that going on a mission is a part of that plan. I've never felt so sure about a decision before but I know without a doubt that going on a mission is what I'm supposed to do and I've never seen a clearer path since making this decision. I know that the scriptures are true and I feel the peace that I get from reading them and seeing how the people in these times had so much faith how they are incredible examples to me today. I'm so grateful for this gospel in my life, living this gospel gives me eternal happiness and I know that families can be together forever!

How I live my faith

I was born in to the church in which I was raised in the teachings of this gospel. I have lived my faith through out my life by attending church every Sunday and reading my scriptures daily, and attending the temple. I have accepted a calling in the church to be a teacher in a class that we as members have the privilege to attend every Sunday to learn more about this gospel. I've grown up knowing the principles and teachings of this gospel and how to choose the right. I make choices daily on what path I will choose and how I want to live my life in order to get to the place that I want to be and to be able to live with my Heavenly Father and my family again. I've made the decision to serve my Heavenly Father for a period of 18 months to bring His restored gospel to the people of Zambia.
