Hi I'm Tristan Cole DeWitt

I grew up in Arizona & Utah. I will be serving in the California Roseville Mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in northern, Arizona in 1997. I lived in Arizona until I was 6 years old. We then moved to southern Utah where I lived for about 11 years. This past year I moved to northern Utah. I attended my senior year at a high school where my dad is an assistant principal. I love playing basketball, baseball and football. I have three little brothers and their ages are; 14, 12 and 8. I also have one older sister. She is married and they have a little girl. My parents were divorced about four years ago. While this has been difficult for our family, I feel that there have been many blessings which we have experienced during this time. My mom still lives in southern Utah with my little brothers. I live with my dad, my step-mom (bonus-mom) and one of my two step-sisters. When I return from my mission, I want to attend college and become a police officer.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon has been a part of my family for many generations. My dad's parents were members of the church and so were their parents. My mom's parents joined the church when she was just two years old. So I was raised a member of the church since birth. I was baptised when I was 8 years old. At that time, I had attended primary and had been taught the gospel by my parents. They have taught me many of the principles and ordinances of the gospel. My dad served a mission when he was my age. He has shared many stories about the people he served. I could always feel something special when he would share these stories. I didn't realize it at the time, but I have come to learn that these feelings were the spirit testifying to me that these things were true. During the past few years my desire to serve a mission has grown. I am excited to be able to serve the people in the mission where I have been called to serve. I want to affect the lives of the people I serve. I want to help them to discover the joy the gospel brings to their lives. I know that the gospel is the one thing in my life that brings me true happiness. I know that without the gospel, I would be lost and I would struggle a lot more in this life. I am thankful that my brother, Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for me. I am glad that despite my mistakes, errors and sins, I can be forgiven and return to live with my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I have always been an active member of the church. I have attended my Sunday meetings as well as youth and scout activities throughout my life. I try to live the principles and ordinances of the gospel. Although I have spent my entire life as a member of the church, I feel like I have much to learn. One way that I am living my faith currently, is by serving a mission. I will be leaving my family and friends, putting college and career on hold for two years to serve the Lord. During this time I hope to not only share the gospel with others, but to increase my faith and testimony as well.
