Hi I'm Emma

I'm from San Diego, CA. I love my family, animals, horseback riding, and swimming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. I'm 19 years old. I grew up riding horses, swimming, playing piano, and singing. For the past year I studied at a community college working towards an associates degree in Kinesiology. I became interested in kinesiology and the health field after my hip surgery in 2014 and my dream is to find a career in the health field. I am also working towards a degree in the German language, I grew up speaking German at home with my mother and my materanl grandparents. My German heritage is a big part of my life. I will, however, be taking the next 18 months of my life off from school and will be serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the spanish language in Texas! I am so incredibly excited for this opportunity and to be able to learn another language.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know that there is no other place that you can find this much truth about God and His principles than in the Mormon church. When I was 12 I was set to go to my first church young women's camp and I was very nervous and was having a terrible time. When I got to that campsite my entire outlook changed, everything seemed so much lighter and so much more possible. We spent 5 wonderful days up in the mountains singing silly songs, playing games, putting on skits, but most importantly; learning more about and getting closer to the Savior. By the end of that week I knew, without a doubt in my mind, that all of the things I had been taught since I was a small child were true. By the end of that week my 12 year old mind knew that I was a daughter of God and that He and my Savior loved me very much. I carry that testimony with me still to this day and have built upon it with many more spiritual experiences and through reading the Book of Mormon I have learned so much about our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only church on this earth that contains the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and for this reason I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For the past 7 months, every Sunday, I have taught a class of 3-4 year olds and I absolutely adore them. It is incredibly rewarding to teach them about their loving Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. They are such sweet children and they give me something to laugh about every week. I grew up in the church and have been so blessed by it's presence in my life. From age 12 I participated in the church's youth program which includes a young women's program (the best thing ever is young women's camp!!!) and a seminary class that began every school day at 6 am throughout high school. Because of the church I know that I am a loved daughter of God and I have a purpose on this earth.
