Hi I'm Reiley

I grew up in a small town in Idaho. I love to play basketball, lift weights, and hang out with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the eldest of five boys. I love hanging out with my brothers. We joke around a lot. We like to go into the mountains near our home to hike and camp. Sometimes we just go build a campfire to cook marshmallows and talk. There is a bridge near our home from which we like to jump into the river. I love basketball. I played on traveling teams and throughout high school. That was a lot of fun, but it was even more fun to just play with my friends and my younger brother. I was a good student in high school. I really enjoyed learning and working hard. I look forward to continuing my education after I serve a mission for my church.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout the scriptures, there are accounts of life-changing spiritual events like Saul hearing the voice of the Lord on the road to Damascus. In the Book of Mormon, there are similar miraculous conversions. All these experiences are wonderful demonstrations of spiritual conversion, but most of the time spiritual conversion is a gradual process. At least, for me it has been. Since growing up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there was never a point in time where I didn't believe there was a God. However, when it took me a long time to really grow my testimony to what it is today. My testimony is not built upon a miraculous experience in particular, instead, it has been shaped by the tender mercies of Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. Every time I am faced with a difficult task in my life, I know that if I do my best, and have faith in Christ and his enabling power, things will just end up working out. This knowledge has been such a blessing in my life, and I definitely don't want to imagine living without it. This is the reason for my desire to serve a mission. I want to share the happiness and comfort that comes from living the gospel.

How I live my faith

As much as I love my family, I have decided to leave them for two years to serve a full-time mission for my church. My commitment to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is too strong. I have grown up serving in my church and trying to be a good example to the youth around me. I hope all of that will help me as a full-time missionary. I can't wait to serve my Savior Jesus Christ. I look forward to being a disciple for him and being an example of service to my little brothers.
