Hi I'm Kristian

I'm from Denmark. I'm part of a family of 7. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a family of seven. I am the middle child, oldest boy. Growing up i had a passion for music, stories and reading at a very young age. I started piano lessons when i was seven, and even before that my mother had me practice with her at our own piano. Around the same age i read Harry Potter and played soccer, and disney seemed to have a hook in me as it had any other kid at that age. Years later i stuck with piano, stuck with disney, leaving soccer in the background. I still read, but not nearly as much as i used to. That might be a result of the bigger loads of homework i've gotten throughout the years. But when i do read, it's often the scriptures. School was quite an adventure for me. In the subjects i disliked i pretty much just survived, but in the subjects i did liked i would have the highest goals and expectations. That way some of my low grades in the one subject, would make me as happy as a top grade in other subjects. During these years though, i also joined in a couple of school musicals, this is where the piano lessons came in handy. Hundreds of hours spent, with some moments of regret, but in the big picture i loved it. School taught me a lot, but taught me more about the stuff that isn't written in books. As of now, i have recieved my calling to serve a mission in the Alps. After those two years, i'm going to study at university. I want to study law, but the two coming years, might change a few things.

Why I am a Mormon

Serving other people regardless of how dull or exhausting it might sound or look, i think to be the best thing one can do. You serve the people you love, so you love the people you serve. That's really what i think my faith has done for me, it has helped me to love others and show that love to my family, friends and whichever person who'll recieve it. So the reason for me being Mormon is not for the sake of having a couple of extra rules to follow just for the heck of it, but because i know that the rules are there to support myself, and keep me in a place where i can optimally grow. The church shares a message of love, and that is what has kept me here even when i was leaning on the fence. I believe that the church is true, that our Heavenly Father loves us as a father loves any of his children. And that means everything to me.

How I live my faith

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since i was born. That means i've never experienced life truly outside the church. But i don't want to either. My faith has personally strengthened me to be myself in situations where it's easier to follow everyone elses path. In church participation is key. You don't get anything out of it, if you don't put any work into it. In my time as member i have fulfilled different duties, like teaching in a class for young men, teaching in a class for young adults, teaching in peoples homes, helping to keep the church clean and such. It's work and it can feel like a burden, but it has always made me happier.
