Hi I'm Riley

My name is Riley, I am a cheerleader, student, and brother. I am also a son of God, a disciple of Christ, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm the oldest of 4 girls and one adopted brother. My brother passed away when he was 3, a few weeks before my mission. I changed sports in high school from wrestling to cheerleading (and yes that is a sport) and have loved my experience! I plan on attending BYU when I return from my mission to study Mathematics.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my brother. He was the cutest, most gentle boy in the world, and he showed me what pure love and innocence really is. He passed away 3 weeks before I entered the mission field, in a drowning accident. He was 3 years old. God has a plan for me and for my brother. Losing him was hard. Living without him is hard. But I serve and I work because I know that I'll see my brother again, and because I know that God loves me and all of his children.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a 2 year mission to the Minneapolis, Minnesota Mission (MMM!). I served in Quorom presidencies and youth committees before I left.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We believe in a loving Heavenly Father who wants all of his children to return to Him one day. Because of that love, we believe that God has allowed baptisms to be performed for those who were not baptized while alive, so that they can receive the same blessings and promises in the life to come.
