Hi I'm Tait Eriksson

I'm from Utah. I'm moving to the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Tait. I just graduated high school, and I'm serving a two year LDS mission in the Philippines. After my mission I plan to attend college, and obtain a four year degree. Some things that I like to do are golf, weight lift, read, watch movies, and spend time with family/friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my whole life. I was born into an active LDS family. I followed my parents until I was about fifteen years old. When I reached this age I started to actively question what I was doing in my faith, why I went to church and participated in various activities that were associated with it. I did not go completely inactive at this time, but my attendance was not consistent. This continued for about a year, until something happened that drastically changed my life. At the time I was angry and frustrated, but eventually I decided to turn toward my Savior. As I did this I was prompted to change the course of some things in my life. I know that it was the Holy Ghost that was guiding me through these trials. This is when I knew that my Savior lived and that he loved me, and that our Heavenly Father lived, and that the Holy Ghost was there and he truly did guide us if we let him. I knew also that God had a plan for me, but I needed to love and obey him to be able to be guided in the direction that I was supposed to go in. During this time I also picked up the Book of Mormon. As I read this book I knew that it was truly another testament of Jesus Christ, and that by reading it I became closer to God. As I consistently studied it I saw that my thoughts and intentions became more pure and righteous. When I saw this change I knew that this book had to be from God. I knew that if this book was true then our church was true. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I participate in home teaching, where I visit two families every month to see how they are doing, and to give them a short lesson. I'm also serving by going on my mission, I will not be serving those in my current ward, but will be serving the people in the community I am assigned to in the Philippines.
