Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a physics geek, a music nerd, and a missionary in the Philippines. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy complicated physics and math problems that challenge my brain. I'm also a big fan of everything musical, from broadway to marching band and everything in between. I play 16 musical instruments and was drum major for two years in high school. I just left everything I know to serve in the Philippines San Pablo mission, and I couldn't be more excited. When I get back I'm planning on pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering from BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life, but that's not why I'm a Mormon now. I'm a Mormon now because after learning all I can about this church and putting its standards and teachings into practice, I can say with no doubt in my mind that the LDS faith is the only true way to find happiness. Other activities I have participated in through the years have resulted in lots of fun experiences. But there's a difference between fun and joy, and real joy comes from helping other people and drawing close to Christ. With all that's going on in the world today, it's easy to get disoriented. I'm so thankful for the church that has given me a 100% reliable moral compass to consult whenever any issue is raised at school or in my community. This church has helped me see the love that God has for all His children, and it is helping me remember that I need to do my best to show that kind of unconditional love to all around me. The sense of peace that comes with the Mormon faith is something I wouldn't trade for anything else on earth.

How I live my faith

Growing up a Mormon in Alabama has been a fantastic experience. My high school was one half of one percent LDS. Seriously - not even one percent. That's given me lots of great opportunities. I love talking about the gospel with my friends of other faiths! Not only can I brighten their lives with the knowledge of the true church, I am able to reinforce my own testimony every day. Plus, I'm probably the only one of my friends who can say that they are the choir director of their church.
