Hi I'm Bret

I was born in Utah. I am serving a mission on July 13, 2016 in the Tahiti Papeete mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated high school and I am so excited to be serving a mission in just a few days. I have had hard times in my life. My parents have divorced, I have had to move around a lot, but through this gospel of Jesus Christ I have learned that it is so easy to be happy even through the hard times. I just can't wait to serve and bring others the same joy that I have experienced.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member in the church. Both of my parents were members when I was born, so I have been going to church almost all my life. For much of my life going to church wasn't anything special because it was just so routine. For a long while I was simply just going through the motions without really seeing the beauty and happiness that can be found with this gospel. As a senior in high school I started to really think about the next steps in my life and I wasn't sure if going on a mission was one of them, nevertheless my mom got me going to missionary preparatory classes to see if it would be good for me. I didn't really have a testimony, but learning about missionary work really helped me to see the goodness and feel the spirit. So I decided to start on the path of becoming a missionary. On that path I have grown so much and gained my own testimony. I know that our Father in Heaven loves all of His children. I know that this church is the church of Jesus Christ and that He lives today. I know we have prophets on the earth right now and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. The Book of Mormon is true, all of the words in it are true and testify of Christ. This gospel brings so much happiness and love and truth and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and I haven't had many callings because I just recently turned 18, but I have had the experience to go to member's homes with my home teaching companion and help families in my ward. I also have had the opportunity to go and do some work with the missionaries in my area. I love this gospel and I try my best to serve and help people as much as I can.
