Hi I'm Naomi Collins

I am from St. Augustine Florida. I am a dancer, singer and actor. I love to write books. I love the beach. I'm a mormon

About Me

I am currently preparing to serve a full-time mission. I have completed one year of college with a major in special education. I love helping those with ID, intellectual disabilities, because I feel they are the angels that walk this earth. I love their sweet spirits and their perspective on life. I was in best buddies through out all of high school. There I learned the meaning of friendship and seeing more then skin deep. I also learned to look at myself through the eyes of my buddy. She could barely speak, and learning anything was a real struggle. But, through all the obstacles, she learned to say my name. We would always dance together, and in that moment no one could tell she had an ID. We went to a ball together, and she won best smile and best dancer. There is nothing that could quite beat the smile on her face when she got two awards that night. She is my hero. I am also a writer. I love to write about the world I live in, and be a historian of my generation and own brain. I also suffer from panic attacks, and writing has become my coping mechanism as I find peace in letting out what I'm worried about through the curves of a pen.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know of the joy this gospel has given me and more importantly I have seen the joy it has given the ones around me. I may have grown up in this church, but I had to be converted. I remember anxiously counting down the years until I could be baptized. I remember being baptized and feeling the overwhelming peace of the spirit. I have grown my testimony daily through studying the scriptures. I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father when He answers my prayers. I am a Mormon because I refuse to give up the light of my life. The gospel that has ensure me an eternal family. This gospel isn't apart of my life but it is my life. It is something that steers me to be a better student, a better daughter, a better friend and a better person. There is already too much sorrow in the world, therefore I cling to the one thing that brings me joy and pushes away the darkness that comes in this life.

How I live my faith

I love this gospel, it does more for me than I could ever return. One person who recently joined our church said "I owe a debt of Energy to this gospel" and that has really stuck with me. Therefore, I devote my energy and time to this gospel. I love serving the people who are in my area. Just through simple things like smiles and hugs. I think they go farther than we give them credit. I also love teaching in the church, whether it be to the young school aged children to the adults in our congregation. I feel I have been blessed with a knowledge of this gospel and I have a duty to share what I have been enlighten with. Back when I was at school, I was in charge of organizing events and checking up on the ladies in our area. Now, I am in charge of helping the deaf children by interpreting. It is something I love about this church. We are all on equal footing, no one is set higher than another. All our responsibilities are equally important to build the kingdom of God.
