Hi I'm Josie

After going to three high schools, I ended up in a little town in Utah. I am an athlete. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old. I am the second child of five in my family. I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada but ended up moving my sophomore year of high school to Utah and then again my senior year of high school to a different city in Utah. In high school I was a 4 sport athlete, as well as many team captains and co-captains. I have been playing sports since I can remember and can't imagine my life without them. But more importantly I could not live without this gospel, I was born and raised in this gospel as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of our Savior, that he walked completely and utterly alone so that we wouldn’t have to. I have a testimony of the power of the Atonement, that it is real and I have felt it in my life. It has the power to bring peace to those that let it, for “His hand is stretched out still”. I have a testimony that we have a living prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson, who leads us and receives divine revelation from the Lord. I have a testimony that the scriptures are true, that they are the ultimate handbook for living, and the words in them were written by prophets of God. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel on the earth today and that this gospel is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I bear you my testimony that I know all these things to be true with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing to serve an LDS mission. I have been called to serve in the Jamaica Kingston Mission. I am so excited to be able to teach those who have not had the opportunity to hear about the gospel.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Josie
God has called prophet since the beginning of mankind. He calls prophets to lead His Church. The current prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. He is assisted by two counselors- Henry B. Eyeing and Dieter F. Uctdorf. Together, they make up the First Presidency of the Church. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Josie
Like it says in the Official Church Answer, "A successful marriage requires faith—both in God and faith in each other. Faith in God is more than a theoretical belief in Him. To have faith in God is to trust Him, to have confidence in Him, and to be willing to act on our belief in Him. It is a principle of action." When we as a couple/spouse both share that faith in Christ and have those same values we connect in such a greater way. We feel the same truth of the gospel and the same love that Heavenly Father has for us. Show more Show less
