Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in Utah, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Eric and I am 18 years old. Some of the things that I enjoy doing are playing sports mainly basketball and baseball, and I love camping, fishing, and hunting. Some other hobbies that I have are I like riding horses with friends or family, going on dates, riding four-wheelers, snowmobiling, and hiking. I am the second youngest in my family out of kids. Some things that I have accomplished are getting my eagle scout, earning my associates degree while in high school, and excelling through school in both sports and academics. I am serving a mission to the Scotland/Ireland mission starting this month. This is a little bit about me and the things that I have done and am going to continue doing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have grown up learning and building my testimony on the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that what is taught within our church leads people to becoming better people in changing their lives for the better. Being a Mormon does not mean that we are perfect or that I am perfect because all of us make mistakes in our lives, but through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we are all able to repent and be forgiven of our sins making it possible that we can become closer to Christ. I am a member of this church because I know the blessings that come from this church are immeasurable and that because I am in this church I need to be much more accountable for the things I do, and I am held up to a higher standard in which I need to be an example to others. I bare testimony that the teachings and doctrine in this church are true, and if we keep God's commandments we will all be able to live with him again in his presence. I know that Joseph Smith restored the church through his willingness to ask a question and find out through the sincerity of his heart which church is true. I know that he received his answer in the sacred grove from God and Jesus that he needed to restore God's church again upon the earth. I know that we have a living prophet today that guides and directs our path, and I know that the book of Mormon is true through my continual studying of it. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward and community in several ways. Some of the things that I do to participate with my ward and community are by doing service projects, going to church each Sunday, and I was the secretary in my age group in church. In our ward we do mutual activities which I participate in regularly and I enjoy going to the temple as often as I can. I go home teaching every month to the families that I have been assigned to with my partner. These are some of the things in which I participate in within my community and ward.
