Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Colorado for 11 years and Hawaii for 7 and a half. I am an athlete. I love food. I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a lifelong athlete. The sports I've played most are football, soccer, and track and field. I have been a member of the church for my entire life. I have 3 sisters, and I am the only boy. 2 older sisters and 1 younger. My future plans for after my mission are to apply to BYU-Provo where I hope to get a degree in engineering and maybe get lucky and play some football.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My mother was a convert to the church, and my dad was also born into the church. My dad always tells my mom how lucky she is to be a convert. She had the opportunity to learn things from a different perspective and choose that it's the right church for her. My dad feels it is harder for someone who was born into the church to be sure that the church is the true church without experiencing some very life changing experiences. I agree with my dad, as I have found it hard to stay with the church for a short period of time. I found myself not enjoying activities or not wanting to attend anymore. I got new young men's leaders who helped me to change my perspective of the church and I started to, again, feel the spirit in my life. I know the church is the true church, and I feel the spirit every time I am around someone else who is a member. The warm happy feeling that the gospel brings into my life is something I never want to change.

How I live my faith

I live up to all of my callings. Since I am young, I have only held callings in young men's. However, I have grown in callings of leadership. Soon I will be embarking on a new journey of faith. I am living in faith by serving the lord in serving a 2 year mission. I think there is nothing more faithful than giving up all worldly things to preach the gospel for 2 years of your life.
