Hi I'm Jared Hales

I grew up in Salt Lake City, I'm going on a mission to Arizona, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to run on occasion. In high school, I ran on the Cross-Country team, and participated in Track and Field. In addition to running, I love to sing, and play piano. I have been playing piano since age 8, but i only recently picked it back up again after a two year break. I sang with Skyline High School's Madrigals, and we received a straight superior rating in both the regional and state level. My final performance, I was blessed to be able to perform singing as well as playing accompaniment such as The Phantom of the Opera, and Les Miserables. I am so blessed to receive opportunities to exercise the talents I have been given, and share them with the people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

There came a point in my life when I had to decide what I believe. I have grown up a member of the church, but when I was about 14, I realized, that nothing was stopping me from living my life how I wanted. I decided to pray, and through much prayer and fasting, I determine that I wanted to live my life according to God's plan. As my departed grandfather said: "If you want to be happy, Keep the Commandments." I have found this saying to be extremely true.

How I live my faith

As I am preparing to serve a Mission, I am choosing to more fully live God's commandments. Not to say that I wasn't following them before; but now, as I am building my testimony of faith and commandments, I can see that they are not restrictions to life, but they truly make a person happy.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Jared Hales
I believe that our purpose here on this earth is to draw closer to our loving Heavenly Father. The scriptures say that as we draw near unto Him, He will draw nearer to us. Show more Show less
