Hi I'm Garen Steed

I'm a Farmer, an Eagle Scout, a Missionary, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a born and bred farmer from a tiny town called Malta in Idaho. There I played basketball and golfed, Enjoyed reading, friends, and taking my friends on dates, I also worked, and grew there. I then moved to Arizona the summer before my senior year and grew that much more. There I learned the most important thing in life was family. I grew up in a family where truth, love, and hard work were our core beliefs. I grew up trusting and knowing God was there. I didn't have a solid testimony until my freshmen year of high school where I was brought to my knees and had no where else to go but to my Heavenly Father and find out if He was there. I was then enveloped with such a feeling of love and peace that was overwhelming that I knew He was there. 5 years later I still don't know everything but my faith is unyielding. I am now serving as a missionary and a representative of Jesus Christ in the Utah, Salt Lake City South Mission. We are rejected, yelled at, thrown out of houses, but there is no place I would rather be. Bringing People to Christ is the joy of my life. I will serve will all my heart, might, mind, and strength. I love my Savior, He is always there for all of us, He will never leave me and I will never leave Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know through the power of the Holy Ghost that this Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is true, that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God, that He restored God's church back onto the Earth. Through this restored gospel we have the knowledge of Eternal Families, the proper rites of Baptism, the priesthood power of God, and the knowledge of the eternal sacrifice of our Savior, and our Redeemer, Jesus Christ when he performed the Atonement. He bled from every pore, and felt everything that we have felt and would feel so that we can receive forgiveness. Through Jesus Christ, we can have peace, joy, and happiness in this life and Salvation in the life to come. I am a Mormon because I know that Thomas S Monson is the current prophet, seer, and revelator, for the world. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true and the most correct book on the Earth. I owe my life to God, he has saved me more times then I can count. I will return to Him with honor.

How I live my faith

I live my beliefs by doing the daily things that bring the Spirit into my life and bring me closer to God. Prayer, immersing myself in the scriptures, repenting, and following the Commandments. these are the daily things that we need to do on a daily basis to align our will with our Heavenly Father. Then weekly, i renew the baptismal promises I made with Him by going to church and partaking of the Sacrament. I also live my faith by serving others, right now I am serving as a missionary and a representative of Jesus Christ in the Utah, Salt Lake City South Mission. I invite others to co unto Christ on a daily basis. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for two years I will volunteer ALL my time and my talents to God. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I LOVE doing this. Before I came on my mission I also lived my faith through volunteering my time, at least once a week, as an ordanance worker in the Las Vegas Nevada temple. I love the temple, there is no place I would rather be on any day then the temple. There I can feel peace and joy beyond comprehension. I may be volunteering so much time there but from what I take away from the temple is worth it. I LOVE this gospel, there is no where else in the world that can lead us back to God. All are welcomed, all are invited, and no one is left behind.
