Hi I'm Abbey von Schlegell

I grew up in Southern California. I have been a member my whole life. I have a strong testimony of this church. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to go to the beach, eat new food, discover new places, and try new things. I currently attend BYU in Provo Utah, but am currently serving for the church in Novosibirsk, Russia.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both converts to the LDS Church and they have instilled in me from a very young age a love for the Gospel. I have always felt Heavenly Father's love for us as his children in everything I do, in everything I see and in everyone I meet. I know that Jesus Christ is our older brother and that He atoned for all of our sins, shortcomings, sicknesses, weaknesses, and anything else we will undergo in this life. I know that He felt all of these things so that we would always have someone to turn to in times of despair. I know that He will always love us and that we can always turn to him with a repentant heart and he will forgive us. I know that He not only experienced all of our sins, weaknesses and failures, but He also experienced all of our joy, triumphs and strengths, and that He died so that we could live again with our Father in heaven. I know that the true Church was restored with Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon is a true book written with the power of God. I know that we have living prophets today who Heavenly Father has entrusted with the keys to bring forth present day revelation for all men. I know that we are all children of God and that He loves us more than we will know and that He has a plan for each of us so that we can return home and live with Him again one day.

How I live my faith

I have done numerous service projects throughout my community including volunteering at the local library, my local high school, my college, and everyone I meet on a daily basis. At church I have been asked to help with the children on Sunday's. I work with children between the ages of 2-3 and we play with them and teach them songs and lessons every Sunday. I am currently preparing to serve as an LDS volunteer in Novosibirsk, Russia. While serving, I will be doing service for anyone and everyone and trying to lift everyone's spirits. I love to serve others and I love working with children and I am so excited to go to Russia.
